Practice Manager

Amanda Sayer BA (Hons)

Mrs Amanda Sayer, Practice Manager

Mrs. Amanda Sayer joined the practice in 2004 and is the Practice & Business Partner and works at both Ian Gow and College Road. Amanda is also a Specialist Adviser for the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  Amanda was nominated by our Patient Forum for East Sussex Business Woman of the Year 2014 and she won the award. She is  also part of the NHS Alliance and part of her role with them is putting Eastbourne and its patients at the top of the Government's Agenda.


Dr Andrew Stewart MB ChB (Aberdeen 1986) FRCGP

Dr Andrew Stewart

Dr Stewart has worked in Eastbourne since 1987 and joined the Practice in 1991. His particular interests are palliative medicine and training GPs of the future. He is the Executive Partner in the practice. He is based at College Road Surgery, but also works at St Wilfrid's Hospice, the Medical Centre at Eastbourne College and the Postgraduate Centre at the Eastbourne District General Hospital.

Dr Folwell joined the practice in 1994. He is based at Ian Gow Memorial Health Centre.


Dr Maia Nicholles BSc MB BS (London 1992) DRCOG DFSRH MRCGP

Dr Maia Nicholls

Dr Nicholles joined the practice in 1997, working part time. She is married with two children. She provides contraception services for the practice including contraceptive coil and implant fitting. She is based at College Road Surgery.

Dr Caroe is interested in helping people to experience health in all aspects of their lives. He is also a board member of the Eastbourne Hailsham Seaford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). He is married with two children and enjoys walking on the hills and playing tennis. He is based at College Road Surgery.


Dr Catherine Jones

Dr Catherine Jones

Dr Jones has been working with us as a salaried doctor for the last few years and lives in Eastbourne. She is based at College Road Surgery.



Dr Sanjay Rajendra MD MRCGP

Dr Rajendra has been a partner since 2014, prior to which he was working as a salaried doctor in the practice. He is married with two children and enjoys spending time with them. He is based at College Road Surgery.


Dr Roisin McCloskey MbChB, MRCGP, FPCert, Dip.For.Med., Cert.Med.Acup, PGCME

Dr Roisin McCloskeyDr McCloskey joined the practice as a partner in April 2013. She has previously worked as a partner in a practice in Oxford for 12 years. She is also a GP trainer. She is married with two children and lives in Eastbourne. She is based at Ian Gow Memorial Health Centre.


Dr Jeremy Durston BSc (Hons) BM MRCGP

Dr Jeremy Durston

Dr Durston joined the practice in August 2013. He completed his training in General Practice here and has been working as a doctor in Eastbourne since 2009. He is married with two sons and lives in Lewes. He is based at Ian Gow Memorial Health Centre.


Dr Amanda Woolhouse MBBS MRCGP DCH DRCOG

Dr Woolhouse joined the practice in March 2014. She has previously worked in several different practices as a partner and as a salaried doctor. She is based at Ian Gow Memorial Health Centre.


Dr Andrew Baldwin BSc (Hons) MBBS MRCGP

Dr Baldwin completed his GP training at the practice and joined the partnership in 2014. He lives in Eastbourne and has two children. He is based at Ian Gow Memorial Health Centre.


Dr Nathan Dixon MB ChB MRCGP

Dr Dixon recently qualified as a GP in 2015 after completing his GP training at Lighthouse Medical Practice.  He is based at Ian Gow Memorial Health Centre.


 Dr Roz Clift BSc (Hons) MBBS

Dr Clift recently completed her GP training at Lighthouse Medical Practice and joined as a partner in November 2015. She is married and lives in Seaford. She is based at College Road Surgery.


Dr Becky Vaughan MBBS MRCGP

 Dr Vaughan completed her GP training at Lighthouse and will be joining us as a salaried GP working across both sites. She has 2 children.




Nurses, Paramedics, Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists

Sister Caroline Howells

Nurse Caroline Howells

Sister Caroline joined the practice in 1999 and leads our team of nurses and health care assistants. She is also our diabetic lead nurse. She recently won the Public's Choice award at the Proud to Care Sussex Nursing Awards.

Nurse Sarah Driver joined the practice in 2016.

Nurse Tessa Penney joined the practice in January 2018.

Mark Bunker and Alastair Skinner are our paramedics and do acute and proactive home visits for patients who are unable to get to the surgery due to acute illness or chronic physical health conditions.

Pauline Barron is our Associate Practioner who works full time & has undertaken extra training to enable her to offer a wide variety of appointments. She will be starting the Associate Practitioner training in September 2015.

Mikaela Koster is a Health Care Assistant who joined the practice in 2012. She will be going on Maternity Leave at the end of 2015.


Administrative Staff

Claire Carter, Administration and Operations Manager

Claire Carter, Office ManagerClaire is one of our two Administration and Operations Managers. Alongside Katrina Blunt, she is responsible for many aspects of the operational management of the practice. She supports and manages our teams of administrative and support staff on both sites. She works closely with the senior management team in the practice to help the practice continually develop, innovate and evolve its operational systems and processes to ensure we provide the best service we can.

Katrina has worked at the practice for many years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge to bring to the smooth running of our administrative teams.
